Our Statement of Faith

  • We believe there is only one living and true God, eternal with unlimited power.  This one God is creator of all things and is revealed as the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit.  (Deuteronomy 6:4, II Corinthians 13:14, John 1:1, Ephesians 4:6, Matthew 28:19, I John 5:7)

  • We believe and accept the entire Bible as the infallible Word of God inspired by the Holy Spirit in the original manuscripts; the only and perfect order of our faith and manner of living; to which nothing can be added or taken away, which is the power of God unto salvation to believers.  (II Peter 1:21, II Timothy 3:16-17, Romans 1:16)

  • We believe that Jesus Christ, the Son of God, is the Word made flesh who assumed the human body through the Virgin Mary.  He was truly God and truly man, two natures in one person, the divine and human.  Jesus lived a sinless life, died a vicarious and atoning death on a cross for the sins of the whole world, resurrected bodily for our justification, and now eternally reigns in Heaven.  (John 1:14, I Peter 3:18)

  • We believe that salvation or being “born again” is received only through faith in Jesus Christ and is attained by grace.  They who are in Christ Jesus (cleansed through His blood) are new creatures and have Him for wisdom, righteousness, sanctification and redemption.  We become believers unto salvation according to: Romans 1:16-17, 3:24-25, I Corinthians 15:1-4, II Corinthians 5:17, II Corinthians 1:30.

  • We believe in water baptism by immersion in the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit and explicitly in Jesus’ name.  Water baptism is subsequent to salvation.  (Matthew 28:19, Luke 24:47, Acts 2:38, 8:16, 10:48, 19:5)

  • We believe in the baptism of the Holy Spirit it is an endowment of power received subsequent to salvation, with the initial sign of speaking in other tongues as the Spirit of God gives utterance.  This power is given by God to anoint the believer for sanctification and evangelism.  This supernatural endowment on the believer is still active within the Body of Christ until the coming of the Lord.  Furthermore, we believe the development of these charismatic gifts ought to be encouraged under the guidance of the local church authorities.  (Acts 2:4, 8:14-17, 10:45-46, 19:1-2 & 6, I Corinthians 12:4-7)

  • We believe in the literal second coming of Jesus Christ for His church, the literal rule of Christ upon the earth, the resurrection of the saved to eternal life in heaven and the unsaved to eternal damnation in hell, and the ultimate victory of the eternal Kingdom of God.  (Daniel 12:2, Matthew 25:46, John 5:28-29, Acts 1:9-11, 24:15, I Thessalonians 4:16-17, I Corinthians 15:51-54, Revelations 22:1-7)

Our Ministry Values

Our guiding principles by which we are defined:

  • God’s Presence – The essential and defining component of our services. Without it, we are nothing; within it we find everything. God’s presence is what heals us, comforts us, guides us, and breathes new life into us.
  • Outreach – We live in a world desperately seeking truth and hope. We exist to share the Gospel and see lives changed in our city, our nation, and our world through practical ministry to people’s physical, emotional, and spiritual needs.
  • Authentic Relationships – We believe that life change happens in real, authentic relationships. Therefore, we value relationship as one of the highest priorities in life and believe that every person should be connected to a small group.

  • The Next Generation – We are dedicated to reaching the next generation and equipping them to be fully devoted followers of Jesus Christ whose lives transform their sphere of influence and make an eternal impact in the world.
  • Excellence – God is worthy of our best. Going beyond what is required, giving our best at all times in everything we do brings joy to God’s heart and glory to His name.

  • We believe that provision is made in the redemptive work of the Lord Jesus Christ for the healing of the body.  Prayer for the sick and anointing with oil are taught in the Scriptures and are privileges for the church in this present age.  (Isaiah  53:4-5, Matthew 8:16-17, Mark 16:18, John 5:14, James 5:14)

  • We believe in the Lord’s Supper (Communion).  This is to continually remind us of the purpose of His death for all mankind.  (Luke  22:19-20, I Corinthians 11:23-26)

  • We believe that man was made in the image of God and is the crown of His creation.  Man is now, by reason of the fall of Adam and Eve, spiritually alienated from his Creator.  Apart from God’s grace and His salvation power, he has no ability to attain to his high calling.  (Psalms 8, Ephesians 2:8-9)

  • We believe that justification is by grace through faith in Jesus Christ’s death on the cross.  (Romans 3:21-24)

  • We believe that the callings of Apostle, Prophet, Evangelist, Pastor, and Teacher are still functioning in the Body of Christ today and will continue until the Lord’s return.  Furthermore, these ministries are gifts to the church for the purpose of equipping the saints for the work of the ministry, that the Body of Christ be edified.  (Ephesians 4:11-16)

  • We believe the identity of the Body of Christ on the earth is primarily perceived through the local church.  We strongly confess the local church to be sovereign and autonomous.  (Revelations 2-3)

  • We believe in the priesthood of the believer.  That is to say, all people born of God have equal status before, and direct access to, Jesus Christ.  (I Peter 2:5)

  • We believe in the spiritual unity of all who are born of God.  We confess even those with whom we disagree, those who do not confess us, and others whom we exclude because of our unwillful ignorance.  (I Corinthians 12:12-14)

  • We believe that those who are called by the name of Christ should depart from iniquity.  Understanding that salvation from the penalty of sin only begins the process of redemption, we acknowledge that the work of the Holy Spirit is to create in us the character of Christ.  (II Timothy 2:19)

  • Creativity – From the beginning of time, God has used creative means to communicate with His people. If God communicates creatively, we want to too.
  • Diversity – We are committed to experiencing life as a diverse community. We celebrate all cultures, races, personalities, ages and backgrounds because each reflects the beauty of our Maker in a unique way. Our differences individually complete us corporately.

  • Relevance – Cultural awareness increases opportunity to connect with people. When we bring God and the power of His Word into the situations people are facing on a daily basis, lives are changed.

  • Teamwork – We do life together. As we work side by side, we share in the joy of seeing our unique strengths, abilities, and gifts unite to accomplish God’s purposes in our city and throughout the world.

  • Serving – God has placed in a man a desire to be a part of something bigger than himself. As we serve in the local church, we experience the fulfillment of giving ourselves to the greatest cause of all: seeing God’s purpose accomplished on the earth.
